Fort Point Bench

Not a single drop of glue can be found in this bench. It was inspired by the old buildings in the Fort Port neighborhood of Boston. Post-and-beam construction made frequent use of wedges and dowels to exploit the natural strengths of wood. The bench is solid mahogany, so it is suitable for indoors or out. This piece was built for Season 4 of Rough Cut Woodworking with Tommy Mac. Photo by Anthony Tieuli.
